James P. Fitzgerald is professor emeritus in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado. His research interests include bats, prairie dogs, ground squirrels, swift foxes, and badgers.

Carron A. Meaney is senior ecologist at Walsh Environmental Scientists and Engineers and curator adjoint at the University of Colorado Museum.

David M. Armstrong is a professor emeritus of ecology and evolutionary biology and environmental studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and the former director of the University of Colorado Museum. He is the author or co-author of several books including (UPC), Distribution of Mammals in Colorado and Mammals of the Northern Great Plains.
