Fanning the Sacred Flame: Mesoamerican Studies in Honor of H. B. Nicholson contains twenty-two original papers in tribute to H. B. "Nick" Nicholson, a pioneer of Mesoamerican research. Brian D. Dillon was a research archaeologist at UCLA and associate of H. B. Nicholson for many years. Now retired from academia, he continues to do fieldwork in the Maya area.
