A facsimile of Elliott's book, originally published in 1881, on the Pribilof Islands (the "Seal Islands") in the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska. Elliott observed the seal rookeries of St. Paul and St. George from 1872 to 1874 and recorded data on sea mammal behavior. He also described the island climate and vegetation, as well as the Aleuts who had settled there under Russian auspices. A fascinating 19th-century work of natural history.
