The Friar and the Maya wins the María Elena Martínez Prize in Mexican History

The Friar and the Maya: Diego de Landa and the Account of Things of Yucatan is the cowinner of this year's  María Elena Martínez Prize in Mexican History! Established in 2009, the María Elena Martínez Prize in Mexican History is awarded annually for the book judged to be the most significant work on the history of Mexico published during the previous year. Congratulations to Matthew Restall, Amara Solari, John F. Chuchiak IV, and Traci Ardren.
