Frederick C. Fliegel was a Professor of Rural Sociology at the University of Illinois. He was the former editor of Rural Sociology and the most frequently published author in that journal. He died in 1987 while serving as an international development advisor in Pakistan.
Peter F. Korsching is an Emeritus Professor of Sociology at Iowa State University. He has conducted and published extensive basic and applied research on the adoption and diffusion of innovations. He served as director of the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development from 1984-1994.
