Spirit Mountain Press was a small book publisher that often worked with the Yukon-Koyukuk School District to develop a series of autobiographies about prominent Alaska Native elders. These sources sought to teach students about their homeland and help provide cultural understanding for all. The autobiographies are illustrated with contemporary and historical photographs. Spirit Mountain Press books are now distributed through University of Alaska Press.
