Marta Effinger-Crichlow to speak at the annual Juneteenth celebration in NYC
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. The African Burial Ground National Monument will celebrate Juneteenth with a special guest lecture by Marta Effinger-Crichlow, author of Staging Migrations toward an American West, on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 1 PM at the African Burial Ground National Monument visitors center, 290 Broadway in lower Manhattan.
